How to Increase Comment Counts

Note to Self:
Make a post about another post that has 0 comments. Explain how the lack of comments is proof in your mind that the post was so well done it left people speechless. Within a few days, watch the comments go from 0 to 27 and disprove your theory. Ponder whether you should enjoy the comments or whether you should feel sad that your theory was disproven and what it all means.

I mentioned in my last post that we had a good discussion going in the Response to Comments – Catholicism post. There is also some discussion going on under the Extra-Biblical post that I wanted to point people to also as it is an older post that everyone may have missed. That comment section is dealing more specifically with the Marian doctrines of the Catholic Church and I think it is very interesting to understand why Protestants and Catholics disagree on these issues.

I think it is important to think through why we believe what we believe and try to make sure that our views are consistent with God’s ultimate truth. Unfortunately, God does not have his own website where we can access his FAQ page. But we do have something just as good and that is His Word (the Bible). It may not seem quite as straightforward as a FAQ, but the answers are there if we will just look.

May God bless our discussions and grant us all the wisdom to recognize His truth.

I've got a few days off, I've got a lot of topics rolling around...

Even feminism and Christianity isn't drawing many comments on my blog.

Carrie you are a kind and gracious hostess. Thank you for letting me take part in your discussions.

Thank you Elena for single-handedly holding up the Catholic position in the discussion. I know that isn't easy, especially when you have multiple people asking you questions. So I really do appreciate your willingness to be involved.

I hope you know that my opposition to the Catholic Church is nothing personal and not meant to be an attack of any kind. But I do stand tough for biblical truths and feel the need to speak up against denominations/religions that I believe are not biblical and as such are misleading people. I know you totally disagree with me on that, but I hope you will at least understand where I am coming from and that I do it with all good intentions.

Let me know if you ever decide to post on some of these discussions on your own blog and please stop back here to see my post on Sola Scriptura - if even to heckle me ;).

Carrie, have you read through "Sola Scriptura!" edited by Don Kister?

It's a series of essays from different perspectives. I got it quite a while ago and got about halfway through before life called...I stuck it in my totebag last weekend and have read a little bit more.

Ellen - No, I haven't read that. I'll look into it.

I've been in so many discussions recently that have made me realize how important Sola Scriptura is...I need to be better educated on that.

I think that some of the essays are on line, I'm off for a few days so I'm planning on pre-writing some posts for when I go back to work and this book was on my list.

It's a nice outline.

Look forward to reading those posts, Ellen.

I'll see what I can find online from Kister, thanks!
