Have you ever heard the question (which comes in different forms) that asks “If you were stranded on an deserted island with just one book, what would it be?”?
Of course you probably know my answer: "The Bible".
But I’d like to change the question around and ask, “What would be your ultimate selfish fantasy?” to which my answer would be: "To be stranded on a deserted island with just my Bible".
Unfortunately I didn’t have time to submit a post for this week’s Carnival of Beauty hosted at Just Marla, but many other women have written about the favorite book we all have in common, The Bible. Stop by and see what they have to say.

In our Bible study this morning, we talked about how we get so weary despite the fact that Jesus clearly tells us His burden is light. We pile extra thing on ourselves that God may never have intended for us in addition to those things He has led us to do. Then we wonder why we're so exhausted. The answer? Jesus also says, "Come to me and I will give you rest..."
That's the background. The crux of today's discussion was how to claim that rest. What it basically boiled down to is making time to rest with the Father. Prayer, Bible reading and study, time in nature recreating with Him (not with a crowd of people pulling on us for attention, etc.).
That island sounds really good right now, doesn't it? So, when God tells me something twice in one day - through my Bible study and through your post - it might be wise for me to pay attention?
Oh, and heads up: Next week's topic is The Beauty of Order.
Thanks for sharing that Carol. In the back of my mind I guess I know that but just haven't found a way to make it work yet.
I'm waiting for the Carnival topic on Disorder, then I'll have lots to share :)
Ahhh...that island idea does sound pretty good. Thanks for the image!
