Dry Spells and Politics

I am in another cycle of being unsure whether or not I want to continue blogging.

My struggle is that I enjoy blogging but I really don’t have the time for it. These last few weeks not blogging have been nice, no pressure to write nor distractions in thinking about what to write. But it is hard to just walk away. I guess I enjoy having a creative outlet.

Lately my posts seem to get people riled up which is fine although the negative comments are a bit tiring. I am hard-lined in my opinions but I am not sure whether that is “proper” or not.

I’ve tried to liven things up in my every day conversations. Yesterday I stated that I don’t believe a Christian can be a Democrat. Only two people heard the statement and there weren’t many waves from them, but I know it was still a bit of a taboo thing to say.

But there, I said it. Politics and Christianity – I am mixing them. You could even call me legalistic with that comment. It's a double whammy of sorts.

So don’t forget, vote Republican in November.

That’s all I have!

I say vey proper. I equate 'soft-liners' with folks lukewarm in their faith... However, being solid/hard-lined in your opinions, does not equate being uncharitable to those who disagree with you. So far you are a better example of how to be kind to those who dessent from truth (as we believe them) than I am.

Yesterday I stated that I don’t believe a Christian can be a Democrat.

I agree a Christian is acting contrary to the faith by voting for a candidate who supports profanity (a), obscenity (b), or sacrilege (c). However, I am not certain every Democrat supports the horrors of a,b, and c, but democrats have not always voted as such.

Legalistic for discussing responsibilites for voters? No. I think we can possibly fall into mortal sin/sin which leads to death (1Jn5:15-16)for supporting evil over convenience such as budget, feelings, policies of our political leanings.

PS. A while back, you said you would post on how you know you personally have saving faith compared to the false faith others think is their saving faith.

I stay out of politics - since I can't vote anyway...
I know that we should pray for our leaders, but to be honest with your - I have a hard time sometimes, especially if I don't agree with certain moves of the government...

Hmmm...did I say that? I guess I could post on why I think I have saving faith but I'm not sure how I could contrast to others. If you are looking to a specific example we may have to do that by email.

My last post was on recognizing true saving faith. I'm not sure how much more I could add.

Carrie you make me laugh. You love to debate! (You can debate me on that.) Maybe you're just letting your blogging brain rest for awhile. You'll be back. Trust me on this. Blessings!

e-mom,

I won't argue with you, I do enjoy debating.

But it's not that I just like to argue but is how I think and get to a conclusion. I basically have to argue myself into a different opinion.
